"By the way, I read Phil's account of his swim in Lake Ontario and it 
gave me giant goosebumps.  I had something similar happen when the 
mast broke on my boat in the middle of the night while I was on the 
foredeck.  I came up too far from the boat to swim for it, or for my 
dad to see me.  I crawled ashore 5 hours later.  It was very 
interesting that some of Phil's experiences were similar to mine, i.e. 
 swim slow and steady, and focusing on one idea for a long time. 
(getting to the motel for Phil, and all I wanted was some pastries.)
