Hi Bill  re the 1989 worlds, Burt Tait , Geza Banfai and I went 
to Attersee Austria for that regatta. Attersee is in the lake 
district east of Salzburg in Austria. very scenic. very friendly 
people.

There was great wind. the prevailing wind is from the 
east. the racing takes place opposite the Attersee Yacht Club 
which is toward the north end of the lake. the normal route on 
the windward leg is to go up a channel of wind in the lower 
middle part of the course, then hit the starboard side of the 
course just short of the layline and get lifted up to the mark on 
a bend in the wind which comes off the mountain on the east side 
of the lake.
