Subject: ISAF - Classic Yacht Status for Sharks Please see above link to the ISAF web page. As you can see, it confirms
the Shark has official status (since July 2000) within the ISAF as a Classic
Yacht Class. This permits, amongst other things, for the Shark Class to
officially use the word "World" for our annual world championships. It also
ensures that jury and race committee who participate in the Shark World
Championship will not compromise their certification for doing so.
The ISAF defines a Classic as...
"...Classes which offer a high standard of international competitive sailing...
These yachts will have a tradition of international competition extending
back many decades..."
