Tell us what's good about SharkBytes.
Lots of information and the site is usually updated regularly.
For sale and want to buy, racing news and schedules
The communication of what's happening in the fleet, racing and results news, pictures of what's happened, frequent updates of racing info, archival info.
i love Shark Bytes
it exists:(and that I mean sincerely. I know a website takes a lot of work and the webmaster never gets proper recognition for his/her time and it's REALLY hard to get copy) has regatta info and (generally) results; the boats/stuff for sale is a good resource
Decent info. Not great, but decent
Lots of info on site
It keeps me up to date with what going in the shark world.

Enjoy reading about and helping others fixing up their own boats.

A way of letting it be know if I am looking for items or selling items.
There's a lot of great information on current racing and information on "how to". Also there are some great stories of Shark sailors.
Shark of the week picture,

Discussion about restauration,

Arcticles about the "exploits" and the origins of the Shark (Georges Hinterholer bio.),
Many things: I would like to see more about the new Euro boats.
I have owned and raced several sharks over my lifetime, and although I don't participate in any Shark events now, I maintain an active interest in this boat, wouldn't be without one, and see SharkBytes as the glue that keeps active and non active Shark sailors involved in the class. I think this, and the introduction of non Shark sailors to the class, helps to maintain interest which keeps the active #s up

One day, I'll race again, but until then I'll keep enjoying the website and this phenominal little boat
Great to see the shark in use wherever and inspires the wishful thinking in the winter for summer!!!!
This is  the place to find out about sharks.  I cruse #320 on the chesapeak bay and have no interest is racing.  Your info on repair and manintenance are what I come for. Maybe you could review products and sulpliers. Have a space for member reviews of thing.
Lots of info about restoration / maintenance - much work ahead for me.

Discussion groups.
Shark of the week.

The Racing page.

Boat Yard.
I sail a on Lake Ontario (on US side) and visit a lot of sailing sites but have always had the shark site in my favorites.

I always find good stuff in it and its always up to date and changing.
In the summer it supplies all the required regatta info and results.
boats for sale and gear forsale.

wanted pages.

the results and regatta pages were posted quickly for 2006.

I think the racing schedule should be out and confirmed by the end of January as most people have to have there holidays in at the end of Jan or the middle of February by the latest.
As a new Shark owner I enjoy mostly all of the areas on this web site.
I use it often to see what is going on - dates etc. when I was thinking about getting into Sharks - I used this site often to look for Sharks for Sale.

It's always up-to-date w/ the regatta's and all of there details w/ links to the clubs sites...This makes life a lot easier.
PLease revamp teh site!

Thanks,
The boat yard section is informative.
All sharks tend to be project boats of one sort or another so I like to be able to get ideas for work on my boat.
Images, technical info, Boat Yard, Goings On?
Overall, its a good web site, however, I think it needs revamping.
General info okay but sketchy.
-At time the the chat groups were active, and that was interesting

- The library/resource pages are always helpful but need new information (possibly solicited from members)
I check the Shark of the Week, Boats for Sale, Equipment for Sale, Latest News, Forums  and Racing Page sections on a very regular basis i.e. several times a week.  The website is the only means by which I can keep up with the latest information and gossip in the Shark Community.  I enjoy using the site a great deal.  It provides me with a lot of enjoyment, especially during the winter, and enhances my boat ownership experience.

I have read pretty much all the articles on the site over the years and therefore I do not access some areas very often.  However, I think ALL of the information presently on the site should be retained and re-arranged in an Archive section at the very least.
People from all over the World love the site. Great comments from everyone!
The way the site is run and maintained.
Just a note about the answers above - as on the surface they make no sense. I am able to navigate the site, and like the info - it could just be 'smoother' in terms of look and feel, and the nav is could certainly be improved. That said, I know it now and use it almost daily :)
Lots of very good general information.  I don't use the class association sections since I'm not in Ontario.
Friendly atmosphere
This is a very informative site.

Tony - you should be commended for the job you are doing in keeping the class members informed. I am sure that the information you recieve is posted in a timely manner.

I would like to see the directors and area representatives provide you with more information - it's their reponsibility to do so!

its about sharks
It's got sharks?

Can see what's going on and maybe lend my two cents to a persons issue if i can help.
Only site for Sharks on the web!
Information on how to renovate your boat.

Any and all racing information.

The forums were a great resource when they were being used.
Fiddle with it if you must, but keep it going at all costs. How about regular tips from successful racers (as started on the Ottawa Shark site but sadly discontinued after awhile)
IT IS A GOOD SITE AND AN EXCELLENT RESOURCE. I ALSO CHECK OUT THE EUROPEAN SHARK SITES AS WELL.
racing schedule   results
The info
new forum is great
I can find what I'm looking for. Spare parts are easy to find.
It is there when I need it
It keeps one up to date with Shark sailing.
Lots and lots of information. The new Shark talk works well once you get the hang of it.
Other than being able to race in Shark Class events, the web site is the only thing I can turn to which suggests that I am a member of a national association. Except for this web site, CSCA does little to reach it members (e.g. there's no newsletter).
Heart & Soul of fleet online
Lots of great stuff, tons of info
I would like to see a clean new design and re-organization of content
mostly well done
Excellent source of information
There is a site. We have a chance to fix it.
Race Schedule info

Equipment info
good source of information. regatta schedules, results, latest news, boatyard
The practical info about how to fix and rig a shark has been very helpful, more stuff like that would be great
good source of info for repairs etc. - and let's face it these boats need lots.
It contains a lot of useful information, both text and pictures.

Greate that there is a new forum.
The info that are invaluable to a new shark owner like me who is on his own otherwise, so this site is very important to me.I was a member of the association the first year i bought my shark, this year i am not, but i am planning to rejoint in the future and i have noticed a renewed interest, from the association this year.
Anything about a great boat is welcome.  I Like to see the regatta schedule and results.

The boat yard section is useful and great for potential new owners.

The set up is easy to use.
I use the site to check Shark listings and to find out about Shark events. I race Sharks with the NYC Shark Club, and am contemplating purchasing one. I also find the forums quite interesting and have seen e-mails from old friends that I have not seen in years.

tuning articles, supplier info, boat yard, regatta info and results.  I would like to see a few more articles from the top sailors re sailing techniques, trimming etc. I think they would contribute if they were asked.   thanks, a good site!
very informative easy to find what you want
Once we understand the site, and realize that all the relevant information is under "Latest News", it's quite easy to get around.
